FAQs
Before you get in touch, read this.
Hiring a developer is a risk when you're moving fast. So I wrote down how I work, what I charge, who owns what, how long things take and what happens after launch.

Working together
Who do you work with?
Businesses around the world, working with me remotely. Some are established and need a new or better website; others are startups with a launch or a raise coming up. Either way, they need a site or an app that holds up.
Who isn't a good fit?
Projects where speed matters more than getting it right, or a one-off tweak with no real goal behind it. I do my best work when there is a business reason for the project and someone who can make decisions.
Who will I work with day to day?
Me. I'm one developer, and you deal with me from the first message to launch. No account managers.
Is design included?
Yes. I do design and development: the key pages and screens are designed in Figma and approved by you before I build them.
How do you use AI?
I co-work with it. AI drafts and checks inside your design system and the rules I write down, which lets me move faster and check more. I make the decisions, and nothing ships until you approve it. The Process page shows how a project runs.
How will I hear from you?
Mostly async, with written updates and previews you can click through. I book calls at a time that suits you, so you're never waiting weeks for a big reveal.
What happens after I send a brief?
I read it and reply with any questions about what you're building and the date you need to hit. Within two business days I send a fixed scope, a fixed price and a start date. Nothing starts until you agree to it.
Pricing and payments
How much does a website cost?
WordPress sites start from $8,000, Astro and Next.js sites from $12,000, and Shopify online stores from $12,000. I give you a fixed price for your project once I've read your brief.
How much do web and mobile apps cost?
Web apps start from $20,000 and mobile apps from $18,000. I scope MVPs, customer portals and mobile apps from your brief, then send a fixed price for the first version.
How do payments work?
Usually in two instalments: one to start and one at launch. Bigger projects can be split further, and I'm flexible about what works best for you.
Which currency do you charge in?
Prices are in Australian dollars, plus GST for Australian clients.
Will the price change once you start?
No. The scope and price are fixed before I start. If you want to add something along the way, I agree the change and its price with you first.
Ownership
Who owns the code and the designs?
You do. The code, the Figma files and the accounts are in your name from day one. If you stop working with me, you keep everything.
Whose accounts are the hosting, CMS and domain in?
Yours. I set up hosting, your CMS, analytics and the repo under your company, and work in them as an invited user. You can remove my access at any time.
Can another developer take over later?
Yes. Every site ships with written docs and a design system in the repo, so another developer or your own team can pick it up without me.
Timelines
How long does a website take?
A marketing site usually takes 4 weeks on WordPress, 4 to 6 weeks on Astro, 4 to 8 weeks on Next.js and 5 to 8 weeks for a Shopify store. Your fixed quote includes the dates.
How fast can you start?
My quote comes with a start date. If you have a hard deadline, like a raise, a launch or Demo Day, tell me in your brief and I plan the work back from it.
What slows a project down?
Slow feedback, missing content and too many people signing off. I keep it moving with previews you can approve quickly, and it helps to have one person on your side who makes the call.
Platforms
Which platforms do you build on?
Astro and Next.js for marketing sites and web apps, WordPress for people who already live in it, Shopify for online stores, and Flutter or native Swift and Kotlin for iOS and Android apps.
Astro, Next.js, WordPress or Shopify: which should I pick?
Astro for a fast marketing site you edit in a headless CMS like Sanity or Payload. Next.js when the site shares code with your React product or has logged-in areas. WordPress when your editors already work in wp-admin. Shopify when the main job is selling products online. I recommend one when I reply to your brief.
Do you build Shopify stores?
Yes. I design custom Shopify stores in Figma and build the theme from scratch, with checkout, shipping, tax and payments set up for the countries you sell to.
Can you move me off Framer, Webflow or WordPress?
Yes. I rebuild the site on Astro or Next.js, move the content across and keep your URLs, so the search traffic you already have carries over.
I built an MVP with Cursor, Lovable, Bolt or v0. Can you work with it?
Yes. I review what is there, keep what works, and clean up the structure, states and UX that fast builds skip, so it is ready for real users.
After launch
What happens after launch?
I fix anything that is not working as agreed for 30 days after launch. After that, you can run the site yourself, and ongoing work is quoted separately.
Can I edit the site without you?
Yes. Your editors write and publish in your CMS, Sanity or Payload, and check a preview before anything goes live.
Can I keep working with you?
Yes. New pages, features and design work after launch are quoted separately.
