Why WordPress
Your editors already know wp-admin, so keep it. What goes is the bloated theme and the pile of plugins, replaced by a site built around your content.

Is WordPress right for you?
WordPress is the right tool for some teams, and a habit for others.
This is how I tell which one you are.
- Best for
- Marketing sites, blogs and docs where every visitor sees the same pages
- Who edits pages
- Your team, in Sanity or Payload with a live preview

- 4 to 6 weeks
- Upkeep
- Static pages, so there's almost nothing to patch
- Logic and data
- Forms and APIs; logged-in areas move to Next.js
- Hosting
- Vercel or Cloudflare, in your account
- Best for
- Sites with logged-in areas, dashboards or code shared with a React product

Case study
From a template builder to a site made for them.
Moonlab Productions had outgrown the template its old site was built on.
Template builder → custom WordPress
Moonlab Productions
I rebuilt the site from scratch on WordPress from a custom design in Figma, so every page is built around their content.
Custom
Designed in Figma, around their content
Theirs
A WordPress site Moonlab owns outright
The problem
Moonlab's old site was made with a template builder, so the site could only be as good as the template.
What I built
A custom WordPress site, designed in Figma and built from scratch, with none of the template's limits.

What you get
The WordPress your editors know, without the mess.
A custom WordPress site, or headless WordPress, on hosting and accounts in your name.

FAQs
WordPress questions, answered
Can you rebuild my existing WordPress site?
Yes, and often that's the better option. Your content and links stay, the bloated theme and spare plugins go, and the site gets faster.
Do you use a page builder?
Sometimes. If your team wants to change layouts themselves, I use Bricks Builder, which keeps the code clean and the pages fast. If they only need to edit content, I build a lean custom theme with editable sections instead.
What is headless WordPress?
Your editors keep using wp-admin, and the public site is a separate Astro or Next.js front end that reads the content from WordPress. You keep WordPress editing and get a much faster site.
Should I stay on WordPress or move to Astro?
Stay if your team relies on wp-admin, its plugins or its roles and workflows. Move if you mainly want speed and no upkeep. I build both and will recommend one when I reply to your brief.
Who looks after updates and security?
I secure the site and set up backups before launch, and fix anything that comes up in the first 30 days. After that, ongoing care is quoted separately.
What does it cost?
WordPress sites start from $8,000 and usually take 4 weeks. You get a fixed scope and price within two business days of your brief.
Who owns the site?
You do. The hosting, domain, theme code and content are in your name from day one.
