The problem
Our own site ran on WordPress. It was slow, there was a plugin or theme update to install every week, and every so often two of them stopped agreeing with each other and something broke. For a studio that sells fast, well built websites, that was not a good look.
What was built
We rebuilt it on Astro: static pages with view transitions, GSAP for the animations that matter, Payload as a headless CMS for projects and blog posts, and Vercel hosting. Nothing runs on a server when you visit, so there is nothing to update and nothing to break. The site you are reading is the result.

What is Astro, and why not WordPress?
Astro is a modern framework that builds your site into plain, static pages. Nothing runs on a server when a visitor arrives, so pages load instantly, there is nothing to hack, and there are no plugins to update. WordPress is still the right choice when a site needs a lot of plugin-driven functionality; for most business and brand sites, Astro is faster, safer and cheaper to run.
Can we meet in person in Australia?
Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast: yes, for kickoff and launch on larger projects. Melbourne and Perth: over video, with in-person visits by arrangement.
Do you work with businesses outside Byron Bay?
Yes. Most of our clients are in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and a few overseas. Everything runs over video calls and a shared project board, and we visit in person for larger projects on the east coast.
Who owns the website?
You do. Code, design files and accounts are all in your name from day one. If we stop working together you keep everything.
How do payments work?
50% to book your start date, 50% at launch. For projects over eight weeks it is split into three.
What happens after launch?
Thirty days of fixes and support are included. After that you can book us by the hour or on a monthly care plan that covers updates, backups and small changes.
What if a rebuild is not what we need?
Then we will say so on the call and point you to a smaller job or our care plan instead. No pitch either way.
